Treatment Philosophy

I am trained in both Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and find value in both modalities. I am also comprehensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is highly effective for children and adolescents, as well as anyone struggling with emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. DBT utilizes mindfulness and focuses on embracing seemingly opposing truths - such as striving for both acceptance and change at the same time. Life is full of challenges, but too often, those challenges are accompanied by suffering. I can help you or your child confront and accept the challenges life has thrown at your doorstep while identifying ways to decrease suffering and enhance living.

No two people are the same. Therefore, I integrate my training in these various methodologies to best meet your needs. I aim to co-create a treatment that feels like the right fit for you, while using my expertise to inform our work together. I will work collaboratively with you to enhance your understanding of your own life and build insight into conflicts you may be experiencing. Furthermore, I can help you to identify effective skills to cope with the challenges in your life. I adopt a nonjudgmental stance and approach the therapeutic relationship with warmth and compassion. Working as a clinical psychologist, I am immensely grateful and humbled to be trusted with my patients’ most vulnerable histories, thoughts and feelings. This is a task I do not take lightly. It is both my job and my passion to help you tell your story and find a path towards wellness.
